Instructor Certification
CSM is committed to delivering an unparalleled training program that offers the utmost in quality, comprehensiveness, and relevance, ensuring a delightful learning experience for coaches of all proficiency levels. Our model is grounded in evidence-based practices for instruction and program development, enabling coaches to leverage shooting sports as a means to educate, inspire, and engage students across various interests, experience levels, and abilities.
We aim for all our coaches and students to cultivate the confidence and abilities that foster success in all areas. Coaches are encouraged to consistently pursue excellence in every endeavor and to establish high standards in both professional and personal capacities. It is important to lead by example and bear in mind the significance of ethics.
The CSM Instructor Certification courses consist of one, two, or three days of comprehensive training for small groups limited to five to ten participants. The majority of class time is dedicated to outdoor activities in the field, offering ample opportunities for shooting and coaching. No prior coaching experience is required for the CSM Level 100 class. However, the Level 250 and TRACS class have specific prerequisites regarding both coaching and shooting experience."
The philosophy of experiential learning underpins the design of all CSM certification levels. Our philosophy presents an alternative to the conventional, inflexible approach of deficit learning programs that have traditionally prevailed in shotgun shooting education. These programs often focus on all aspects except the learners' self-awareness and personal development.
CSM encourages active and engaged involvement in the learning process. Students learn to harness their inherent perceptual abilities to discover, define, and develop a distinctive shooting style that is both consistent and effective. This is because students are taught to engage in their own strategy, rather than adopting the concepts of others. Bearing this in mind, we extend a warm welcome to CSM. We trust that you will find the materials provided both engaging and stimulating, challenging your preconceived notions.
